Part-time employment opportunity:

CWDW is looking to hire two part time employees. We are seeking candidates that have experience working with all breeds and varying levels of training.  Desirable candidates must have reliable transportation and a cell phone. The two jobs are in Albany and Latham/Cohoes areas respectively.

  • Working outside is a big part of dog walking. It is necessary to get wet, hot and cold sometimes all on the same day.

  • The dogs as well as their people count on us to show up each day. They also trust us with their best friends. Background checks are a mandatory part of employment with CWDW. If you aren’t willing to submit to a background check and supply the necessary information please do not apply.

  • Ideal candidates must be ok with picking up poop in small plastic bags that sometimes break. If you are afraid of dog poop this isn’t the job for you. Successful candidates must also be comfortable cleaning up the occasional accident, which may or may not include vomit.

  • Some dogs are old, some are young. Some dogs love people, some require a “getting to know you” phase. Patience and kindness are required each and every day. If you are afraid or nervous around certain breeds this may not be a good job fit for you. Ideal candidates will have experience dealing with and caring for all breeds. CWDW is an equal opportunity walker, all dogs welcome!

  • A certain level of physical fitness is required. Some dogs are strong, some are fast, and all are excited to see you. Please be capable of walking up to 4-5 miles per day. Also be capable of handling a dog that will forget all of its manners when it sees small furry woodland critters and other dogs. Getting yanked and pulled is an every day occurrence. While you do not need to be a super hero, if you get sore and winded bringing in the groceries this will not be a fun job for you.

The income opportunity for each territory is all what you make of it. Both of the current openings average 2-4 hours per day typically between 10am and 3pm. If you are interested please click on the email link below and attach a resume and cover letter outlining your relevant experience. No phone calls please.
